Barbara Hurley Michaels, 48, of Market St., Marietta, passed away Saturday,
May 5, 2005 at her residence. She was a Breast Cancer Survivor.
Born in Tucson, AZ, she was the daughter of Phillip Hurley of Michigan and
the late Elizabeth Hurley.
Barbara worked as a Route Sales Driver for Frito Lay of Lancaster. She had
previously worked as an Assistant Department Manager, for Giant Food
Store, Centerville Road. Barbara was also an EMT and a member of the
Hempfield Ambulance Association and the Arivaca Fire Co., S. Tucson, AZ.
She studied martial arts at Hempfield Family Martial Arts. She enjoyed
spending time with and cared deeply for her children and enjoyed reading.
Surviving in addition to her father are, two daughters, Michelle D.
Michaels of Marietta and Kathleen E. Michaels of Hagerstown, MD and two
sons, Bradley B. Michaels of Columbia and Aron O. Michaels, of Hagerstown,
MD; a brother, John and a sister, Eleanor. She was preceded in death by a
sister, Phyllis.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Barbara s Life
Celebration in a Memorial Service from the Smedley Funeral Home, Ltd., 29
North Gay Street, Marietta, Sunday, May 15 at 2pm, with the Chaplain
Roxanne Wolgemuth officiating. Interment will be private.
Friends may call at Smedley s on Sunday from 12:30pm until time service.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American
Cancer Society, Breast Cancer Research, PO Box 687, Hershey, PA 17033.
