David Holmes
Obituary
David King Holmes passed away March 12, 2001 in Tucson, at the age of
44, after a courageous battle with liver disease. He was born in
Tucson September 5, 1956. He is survived by his loving wife,
Karen, and their two sons, Brian and Sam. He leaves also his
mother, Mary Holmes, sister, Patricia Holmes, brothers, John(Jana), Mike
and Fred Holmes and also a large extended family. His father,
James V. Holmes preceded him in death in 1998. A lifetime resident
of Tucson, David graduated from Catalina High School, where he played
football and was voted All-City offensive and defensive lineman for 2
consecutive years. He worked for the Southern Pacific Railroad for
over 20 years as a Switchman and as a Conductor. David loved
Tucson, his family and was very proud of his sons' participation in
little league and community sports and many times was their coach or
umpire. Memorial services will be held at Broadway Christian
Church 4741 E. Broadway, on Thursday, March 15th, at 2:00pm. In
lieu of flowers donations can be make to Broadway Christian Church.
